Master of Wine Peter Scudamore-Smith Rates Sarabah’s Sparkling top of the list!

We were delighted to attend the launch of 2017’s Eat Local Week on Tuesday 9th May. This fabulous week showcasing local producers within the Scenic Rim runs between 24th June and 2nd July and is a wonderful time to explore the food and drink within this stunning Gold Coast Hinterland area.

The highlight of the evening for us was when it was revealed that Master of Wine Peter Scudamore-Smith had given Sarabah Estate Vineyard’s Sparkling Brut Reserve an impressive 90 points, placing it straight in at the top of all the sparkling wines in the Scenic Rim. So when you next come for a scenic drive to Sarabah you know that you will be receiving nothing but the best in wine when you arrive!

We’re taking part in the Scenic Rim Art Trails 30th & 31st May 2015

Join us for a weekend of art, wine and great food at Sarabah Estate Vineyard!
We will be hosting artists James McKay (our very own groundskeeper!), Toni Henderson and Simon McDonald as part of the annual Scenic Rim Arts & Culture Trail that is taking place throughout May 2015. Their work spans from watercolour and collage through to print and sculture with subject matters covering Australian landscape, native plants and the human body.

All artwork will be displayed in our timber and stone chalet in which you will also find our fabulous Bistro. Chef Reg will be at the helm of the kitchen on Saturday for our Bistro Breakfasts, Lunches and Afternoon Teas, whilst on Sunday we will be serving Canape Lunches to enjoy alongside our Sparkling Brut Reserve. Our menu pays special attention to using local, seasonal ingredients, espcially making the most of our very own market garden.

So why not get in touch to book a table for our Saturday Bistro or Sunday Canape Lunches and enjoy a glass of Sparkling Brut to get you in the mood for a stroll through the gallery. You’re also invited to take a walk through our grounds which are blessed with a backdrop of Lamington National Park, in the heart of the Gold Coast Hinterland.

The Rosé Revolution

It’s that time of the year when Wine lovers are being invited to take part in the Rosé Revolution. Now some of you including myself were unaware of the Rosé Revolution. So to educate you on this important event I have shared some background information on this growing celebration.

The Rosé Revolution is a campaign aimed to raise awareness of the beloved and sometimes forgotten pink variety of wine otherwise known as Rosé. The revolution begins on the 10 of November, and is marked by the use of social media. Generally live tweets across the world will recognize the varieties of World Wide Rosé Wines. Last years Revolution was one of the largest social media initiatives undertaken by Australian and World Wide Winemakers generating more than 2,937 tweets over a seven day period.

The celebration of Rosé will span across many different types of events and features up until April 2012. It is a one of a kind event with hundreds of Australian Winemakers of Rosé celebrating this unique wine. With 85 new wineries joining the cause last year and this year Sarabah Estate Vineyard will join in the festivities by sending its very first tweet for the Rosé Revolution; tweet the hastag #RoseRev to join on in.

So what is all the fuss about Rosé anyway? Well, it is said that Rosé is for the more acquired taste and generally will suit adults – but they’re not to be taken too seriously! With their purpose-made, dry and delicious taste they are quite the alluring drink.

These wines are perfect for Summer drinking but can be enjoyed at anytime throughout the year – you just need some great food and friends to make the occasion. Better yet stop by Sarabah and enjoy a cheese platter and the Prize of Sarabah Estate our very own Rosé and celebrate the Rosé Revolution with us this year!
